Geneva Sky Timelapse

Geneva Sky Timelapse Geneva Antenna Cam - HB9GYR

📡 Camera selector

At the top of the page, the buttons switch between the site's different cameras ("Geneva Sky Timelapse" / "Geneva Antenna Cam - HB9GYR"). Each has its own photos, videos and settings — independent from one another.

📷 Live

Shows the latest photo received from the camera, refreshed automatically every 15 seconds. The camera sends a new image roughly every 0.3 min.

Below it, the "Last hour" tab shows a short video of the last 60 minutes, regenerated every hour. Below 10 images received in that hour, a "not enough images" message is shown instead.

Further below, today's progress — number of images received so far, a bar showing the fraction of the day already elapsed, and an "active / needs attention" indicator.

🕐 Yesterday's Video

Shows the full video of yesterday, compiled overnight at 00:10.

📅 History

Four ways to browse the archives, via the Day / Week / Month / Year buttons:

  • Day — a slider that scrubs through a given day minute by minute, showing the exact time. A "⭳ Download this photo" button retrieves the image matching the slider's position.
  • Month — a calendar with a thumbnail on each day that has a compiled video. Click a day to see its full video.
  • Week — a list of compiled weeks (full video = the 7 days stitched together). An orange "missing days" tag appears if some days of the week couldn't be compiled (e.g. camera outage).
  • Year — a grid of the year's months, with thumbnails.

For weeks, months and the year, a short summary is also available alongside the full video ("Summary" button next to "Full video" when one exists). This summary only keeps daytime moments (automatically detected via brightness analysis, between 10h at the earliest and at least until 15h), for a condensed video of about:

  • Week: ~90 sec
  • Month: ~180 sec
  • Year: ~360 sec (summary only, no full video for the year)

Technical detail: brightness is checked every 10 min, and 3 consecutive checks (bright or dark) are required to confirm the start/end of day — so a stray cloud or a passing reflection never wrongly cuts off a summary. Current brightness threshold: 110/255.

🌤️ Weather

The "Weather" tab shows 4 charts (Temperature, Humidity, Wind, Pressure) over a chosen period — Day / Week / Month / Year, via the buttons above the chart.

The same charts (in a more compact form) also appear under yesterday's video, in History, and under the day slider — with a dot that follows the playback position of the video or slider. A switch lets you hide them if needed (next to the "Size" button).

Temperature, humidity and pressure come from a personal weather station installed on-site (a real measurement, not an estimate); wind and the weather code/icon are still provided by an external weather service (Open-Meteo), as this station has no anemometer or rain gauge.

🎬 Clips

Lets you generate a video for a specific date/time range (e.g. "July 5th from 2pm to 4:30pm"). Generation is admin-only, but once created, a clip is visible and downloadable by anyone from this page.

This is only possible for images still available on disk — raw photos are kept for 180 days before automatic deletion (only already-compiled videos remain available beyond that).

⚙️ Playback speed and download

Each video can be watched at different speeds (0.1x to 4x) via the buttons under the player, and downloaded via the "⭳ Download" button. The download opens in a small separate window (a quick anti-bot check, usually instant) that closes automatically once the download starts.

🖼️ Display size

The "Size" button at the top toggles between "Small" and "Original size" — this only changes the space used on screen, never the quality or the actual size downloaded (videos stay native 4K either way).

Receive the daily video by email

A signup form (shown on the Live tab, when available for this camera) lets you receive, every morning by email, the link to the previous day's video. A confirmation email is sent after signing up — unsubscribing takes one click, via a link included in every email received. See our privacy policy for details on how this data is used.

📱 On mobile

The ☰ menu at the top right groups the Admin/Logout links. The tab bar (Live, History, Clips...) scrolls horizontally if it doesn't fit the screen.
